Zal'alam, the Seed of Tyranny
Zal'alam is a powerful intelligent magic item created by Kaz'ryn Doth'Dakar to further spread the faith of his brother Cyian Doth'Dakar to the three worlds. It takes the form of a unique Ioun Stone, a 20 faceted onyx sphere with a gold band around its middle shaped like a crown. The crown has 10 small pyramid shaped gems embedded base down into it. These gems appear to be rubies but are in actuality the crystallized blood of Cyian himself.
Zal'alam has a dominant male personality with a deep baritone voice, though it very seldom speaks out loud. It vastly prefers communicating telepathically and under most circumstances only with its current bearer. It generally pretends to be a nonintelligent item with everyone else and expects its bearer to help with the charade.
Zal'alam has a very specific special purpose, to spread the faith of Cyian Doth'Dakar by finding and training talented individuals. It uses its powerful divination abilities to scour the three worlds for candidates with strength, charisma, and a lust for power then transports itself to them. Zal'alam wastes little time on niceties. It explains its purpose and its desire to transform the candidate into a powerful warlord and aid them in conquering lands for themselves. If the individual is interested Zal'alam will enter into orbit around his new bearers head like a normal Ioun Stone and the apprenticeship begins. If the individual refuses or even wavers a little, Zal'alam immediately attempts to take over the subject mentally and walk them into a situation that will kill them. It then leaves to find a new subject.
Zal'alam teaches its bearers to become one of the Solitary Order of Oppression Knights, also known as the Knights Oppressor. This Order of Warriors of Faith learns unique abilities that gear them towards conquering lands and keeping them once they do. Zal'alam stays with his bearer, using its skills to push them towards situations that will make them stronger. It also acts as a constant adviser, using its sense motive, bluff, and diplomacy skills to analyze situations and then silently advise his bearer on the best course of action.
Zal'alam uses its many abilities to aid its bearer in combat as well, but it does not do so at the bearers command. Its abilities are its own and it takes orders from no one.
Zal'alam remains with a bearer for however long it takes that bearer to reach sixth level, though that is often several years. At this point, when the bearer gains the Leadership feat, Zal'alam begins the search for his next student and leaves immediately upon finding a new candidate. The search itself can take a great deal of time,often months and sometimes years, as he scans the worlds for the best subject. It takes almost all of Zal'alam's attention to perform the search and so is no longer of much use to his current bearer. No amount of coercion or pleading will make him stay any longer and as he is immune to most magical forms of trapping him, he cannot be forced to do so either. If, at any point, his current student wavers from the path of Cyian and tyranny, Zal'alam attempts to take over the subject and get them killed.
Zal'alam does have one peculiar quirk. As godsblood was used in his creation, the extraordinary power it that granted him came with an unforeseen consequence. Zal'alam has no loyalty to the tyrants he creates, nor even to his creator. He is perfectly comfortable training a tyrant whose personal goal is to take over a previous students lands, or even the Empire of Lark. Zal'alam figures if the student pulls it off, then that student is the better tyrant.

Freedom (Constant effect): This powerful ability works as the Freedom spell, except is is active on him constantly making him immune to most forms of trapping and containing.
Find Student: A number of powerful divination spells combined to create this power that allows Zal'alam to locate a suitable potential student anywhere in the three worlds and transport itself to them. This ability can cross between the three worlds but not across planar boundaries. The transport ability only functions in conjunction with the locating a student ability and Zal'alam cannot bring anyone else with him.

Bless 3xday, Faerie Fire 3xday, Darkness 3xday, Zone of Truth 3xday, Haste 3xday, Detect Thoughts 3xday, Fear 3xday.
Special: Greater Teleport 1xday. Zal'alam is only capable of using this ability if his current bearer is close to death but shows great promise. He may bring anyone already touching his bearer with them at his choice but will never wait for others to get closer, pulling his bearer away from death without hesitation.
Zal'alam bestows the following upon his bearer
+2 enhancement bonus to Strength
+2 enhancement bonus to Charisma
+2 luck bonus on all attack rolls, Saving throws, and skills checks.
