Geographically Delvin's Reach is the largest of the six principalties.  On the north it borders StoneShoulder and the Khol Mountains.  Its western border encompasses most of the Longclaw Mountain range and on the east it butts up against the Shortclaw Range and the Valis Foothills.  Sandwiched in between those ranges are the great plains of the reach.  The plains are a vast, gently rolling land of endless grain fields and grazing herds of cattle. 

The people of Delvin's Reach are mostly Human and Dwarven and the marriage of these two races cultures and outlooks has produced a solidly pragmatic and practical society.  Reachmen are a simple and stubborn lot who believe that hard work keeps people honest and humble.  Far and away, farmers are the most common occupation, with miners, craftsmen, and soldiers filling in most of the rest.  Its known far and wide for its excellent grains and beef exports and the crafters of Delvin's Core are considered by many to be the finest n the Kingdom.

The Reach has four major cities, though Keep Stonesky is generally considered a separate entity.  The other three are Delvin's Core (Originally called Delvin's Reach as well), Delvin's Flat, and Delvin's Bluff.  Each of these cities has a number of smaller cities, towns, and villages in its orbit.  The Five major roadways of the Reach also have numerous towns and villages dotting their lengths.

Delvin's Reach is ruled by Clan Stonesky.  The current ruler is Prince Rostark Stonesky, firstborn son of King Bailron with his second (and current) wife Queen Brella.  Prince Rostark, still fairly young for a dwarf, is an adventurous man with a passion for getting out and mingling with his people.  He is renowned for his deep bass singing voice with which he intones holy chants and hymnals of Galleon.  He is considered by most of his people to be a wise and caring, but firm ruler and the Reach benefits greatly from his presence.

Once called Delvin's Reach, Delvin's Core is the oldest city in The Reach.  The original settlement existed for several decades before Myrinalis gave the reach over to Bailron Stonesky.  Today Delvin's Core, often just called The Core, is the reaches major trade and craft hub.  Almost all of the grain, livestock, stone, and crafted goods of the Reach pass through The Core at some point on its journey to the rest of Nevermore or the other regencies.  

The Core is surrounded by stout granite walls with fortified gates at each of the city's major roadways.  The heavy dwarven influence on the city's infrastructure has given the city an orderly and largely symmetrical layout.  The city is divided into four wards by the crossing of the Pass Road and the Riverward Way.  Each of the Four Wards is governed by a Mayor elected by the Wards citizens for terms of 10 years.  They Mayors are responsible both to the Prince and their constituents for maintaining peace and order in the Ward.  Interestingly, the Wards of Delvin's Core are diverse and integrated, with no single ward being dominated by a race or culture.

The Core is known both within and without Nevermore as the home of the largest collection of expert craftsmen in the world.  Metal and stonework of any kind and the finest quality can be bought or commissioned in the city.  Raw materials from The Reach and Stoneshoulder flow into the city and crafted goods the envy of Katrel flow back out.  Items crafted in The Core bear the signature makers mark of Delvin's Core, crossed Hammer and Chisel with the Craftsmen's initials or mark under them.

The Makers Bazaar  (Event)

The first week of Nartuth every year, just before the harvest starts, Delvin's Core holds a grand festival called The Maker's Bazaar.  For one week the city's streets are filled with street vendors, games, parades, and song as the City celebrates the craftsmen that make the Core famous.  People from all over Nevermore and beyond flock to the city to attend the festival. Craftsmen of all trades display their greatest creations, Farmers and Miners buy and sell futures in grain, livestock, and ore, and the city is drenched in good brew and song.

Follow the Pass Road east out of Delvin's Core and after a couple days of travel the rolling hills of the reach will smooth out into broad plains.  Continue following the road, at this point called the Pass/Valis Way, and you stroll past field after field of golden wheat and green pastures of grazing cattle.  This seemingly endless landscape of farms continues right up to the gates of Delvin's Flat, the city of Endless Grain.

Delvin's Flat is the center point of The Reaches incredible grain and livestock production.   Though small in population, the The Flats takes up all the space of a much larger city.  It houses huge grain stores, mills, bakeries, butchers, tanneries and leatherworks all supported by miles and miles of farms that surround it.

This agricultural center is ruled by a council of Barons.  Each of the three Barons controls a massive Barony of towns, villages and farmland in the name of Prince Rostark and the King.  Their Baronies are divided up into smaller sections ruled by Marquis they themselves appoint.  The city itself is ruled by the three barons together with issues decided by the majority of their viewpoints. 

The Feast of Life  (Event)

The second week of Naathus, just after the last harvest of the year before winter, the city and all the surrounding towns, villages, and farms celebrate the Feast of Life.  This seven day long celebration is both a civil and a religious holiday of gratitude.  Each of the 10 days of the week are dedicated to a different purpose.  1st Day is Creators Day, a day long celebration of gratitude to Thelin for creating the Three Worlds and protecting its good peoples.  2nd day is Nathismass, a day to thank the Lord of Earth and Sky for all the gifts of nature.  3rd day is Children's Day, a day of celebrating the blessing of children from Sierra, the Lady of Fertility.  It is a day of gift giving.  4th day is the Life Feast, a feast giving thanks to Myr, The Lord Endurant, for the life and constitution to work the land for the last year.  5th day is King's Day, giving thanks for the formation of Nevermore and heaping best wishes on the King for his stalwart protection of the realm.  6th day is Reachday, celebrating the formation of Delvin's Reach and its ruler, Prince Rostark and the Stonesky family.  7th day is Service day, each person in the realm gives service to another during the daylight hours and grand feasts are held at night to end the festival.
