History:
Aelv'elordremaine Hayldramede, more commonly just called Lordremaine, is perhaps the oldest true kingdom of the elven people. It's first city, First Home, was founded in 2a107y, just after the abandoning of Corellaestra, by Enaelleyith The Father and elves from the first generations of the race. At First Home, along the Columbrielle (The River Columbri) and on top of the largest Nexus Point in the Elven Forest, these elves built themselves a new home. Within just a few years, however, Enaelleyith's Dictum would be raised, an event that would shape First Home forevermore.
With the birth of the Dictum it became clear that the Father and his students had divorced themselves from normal elven society. Those who pursued the arcane arts were slowly becoming a people apart, separate and distinct from their uninitiated relations. They followed their own codes, began their own traditions, and most importantly could not participate in the governance of the people. Two centers of power developed in First Home, the government led by the strongest elven families, and the College Arcanum, the beginning of what would be the great Elven Collegium. Unlike similar divisions in other cultures, however, there was no hostility between the two factions. Instead, a calm melancholia existed between the two. When a young elf displayed talent for the arcane he would be sent to the College to learn and his family would mourn as if he had left for good. Even though he might still live with them, see them everyday, this sadness persisted. Slowly the two factions grew to ignore each other, except where necessity demanded otherwise Only the presence of the Father himself kept the city from splitting down the middle.
After the Father's passing this state of melancholy grew deeper. As the College Arcanum grew, spread, and diversified, the larger temporal population of the city grew stagnant and apathetic. Curiously, reports indicate that those who left the city to fight in the Graveless Struggle felt the melancholy lift while waging the war. It reemerged upon their return to First Home. Finally, in 3a240y, after more than a millennia of this growing depression, the elves of First Home could take no more. Wylranelith Enaellrylani, the blond scion of a large family (and some say the father of the High Elf subrace) declared the city cursed and unfit for those who pursued paths other than the arcane. He rallied much of the uninitiated population out of their torpor and led them west, leaving the elves of the College Arcanum to form First Home into a pure Magocracy. Almost as soon as they left the city the melancholy lifted. Wylranelith led them to a land dotted with many small lakes and founded Hayldramede. Historians today debate endlessly as to the origin of the melancholy the tore the elves of First Home in two. Theories range from the Creator Gods desiring a sight dedicated solely to the arcane, to the Father seeking to build the first Magocracy of the elven forest, to it being a strange byproduct of the untrained living on such a massive Nexus Point. Some even claim the depression but on of many maneuvers in a secret battle between Laucian Firstborn and Black Sonellion for the future of elven arcane society.
After the founding of Hayldramede, exploration and expansion into the region that would become the Kingdom of Lordremaine exploded. Under the rulership of the Enaellrylani family the south western corner of the Great Forest was surveyed and settled with the founding of the city of Aelvi'Vals followed by Canvaera and Mindimede (Mindi'Kovale now). The traits that would come to signify the High Elf subrace also exploded through the population.
Today the Tower Crown of Lordremaine still rests in the hands of the Enaellrylani family and the country is by far the largest and richest of the Great Forest. Every elf between the the coast of the Lyrthac Ocean on the west, The Great Chasm on the north, Aldamere on the East and the edge of the Forest on the south pay homage to the King of Lordremaine. Even First Home, now more commonly called The Collegium Father Campus, falls within Lordremaine's borders, though that city still largely runs its own affairs.
