The Dragons of Katrall
Nearly 300 years have passed since that cataclysmic week. For reasons unkown to most, the dragons of the three worlds took to wing and brought fire and blood from the skies. On Severall the Drow homeland of Heartwood, thought untouchable, was set ablaze by dragons of all colors. On Thayllus the Empire of the Stone Bear was ravaged and broken by tooth and claw. On Katrall, the peacefull and sleepy kingdom of Galadorn was washed away in torrents of tears.
Even today it can only be guessed as to what caused the bloodshed. Even the good dragons of Gold and Silver, Brass and Bronze, even the mischievious Coppers could offer no explenation of why they rose from their homes one day and brought terror to all in their path.
After all was said and done and untold numbers of lives lost, the dragons retreated from the affairs of the worlds. Their once proud Council upon it's Aerye broken, now empty...A tomb to lost ideals. They pulled from the world of men and elves, dwarves and drow...They went to Katrall, to the Lawless Reaches where they began anew.
However this wasn't the end, far from it in fact. For the evil dragons of the worlds, The Reds and Blues, Greens and Blacks, even the cowardly Whites saw this as an opportunity. Here where civilized hands had never touched, they could conquer. Humanoids of all types doted the landscape still. Nomadic humans mostly, as well as goblinoids of various kinds. Here the evil dragons forged their pact, the Ilvis Draconis, or the Dragon Ascendency in the common tongue. It outlined how the world of Katrall would be split into pieces, with one Chromatic dragon as the ruler of each. So they set about their subjegation of these lands with impunity, for what mortal could resist their might? None as it seemed, but Katrall was inhabited by more then simple mortal races...
The good dragons soon learned of the affairs of their cousins and with the shame of all they had already done still so fresh in their minds, could hardly stand by and allow yet another travesty to mark draconic heritage. All being of good nature, and redemption on their minds, they forged their own pact that would later become known as the Jyshvyrtil Arvyll, The Anvil of Justice. It's proclemations were simple: To oppose the schemes of their cousins, and protect the defensless humanoids of the wild world.
Since those times a generation of new dragons have been born into a world of strife, some good, some evil, but all bound into a war that can never end.
Below are the dragons that were infused with the Orbs of Dragonkind, after they were used as components in the epic spell that sent the dragons of all three worlds into a rampage, as well as important information concerning them. All of these dragons are effectively immortal, even if destroyed they will reform in 1D10 days. It is possible to use a Wish or Miracle spell to ensure that they do not return, however the experience expenditure required is 30,000 exp. Any less and the spell will only appear to be successfull, the dragon however will still reform in 1D10 days.
Other then the hefty experience cost for a wish or miracle, each of these dragons can be killed, if a specific sequence of events happens prior to their death. The riddles that are included are the only hints of how any of these dragons might be destroyed, and irregardless of the type of divination magic used, these results are always the same. The task is made all the more difficult as each of the dragons have different requirements.
The Dragon Lords:
Arvyllinteshly, Great Wyrm Gold Dragon
Riddle: In the fire's heart, below leaping wonder
Of Silver sheen and easy sunder
Of boughs never seen and blood of the pliant damned
Of head, of haft, of charging set
Only this brings Arvyllinteshly to rest.
Mornallis, Great Wyrm Silver Dragon
Kellysphyre, Great Wyrm Bronze Dragon
Sedonyll, Great Wyrm Copper Dragon
Varshillis, Great Wyrm Brass Dragon
Vacknyllin, Great Wyrm Red Dragon
Karsarii, Great Wyrm Blue Dragon
Temperis, Great Wyrm Green Dragon
Challindiri, Great Wyrm Black Dragon
Hypherus, Great Wyrm White Dragon
