The caster opens a smal rift between the Prime Material Plane and the Plane of Shadow, about the size of a knife, inside of a creature or object. Although the rift is only open for a fraction of a second, the effect is devastating. The Caster must succeed on a ranged touch attack. If successful, the target creature takes 1d4 damage + an additional 1d4 damage per every 2 caster levels above 1'st (to a maximum of 5d4 at caster level 9). There is no save against this damage. In addition, the target may become 'sickened' for 2 rounds (fortitude negates).

Casting Time : 1 standard action
Range : Medium
Target or Area : 1 Target creature
Duration : 1 rnd/lvl
Saving Throw : Will (partial) then Fort (negates)
Spell Resistance : Yes
The Caster must succeed on a ranged touch attack against the target. If successful, the target's shadow is pinned in place and the target can not move more than 5' from it's current location unless it succeeds on a will save due to the pain of tearing it's shadow away from the pin. If the save is successful then the target must succeed at a fort save or take 1d4 CON damage as the shadow is torn from the pin. The spell ends either when the duration expires or after the target succeeds in moving away from the pin (reguardless of the success or failure of the fort save).
